New HBOR Website

For the Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development (HBOR), we have created a new, modern, and responsive website that provides entrepreneurs, the public sector, exporters, and other users with easier access to financial programs, services, and information.

HBOR is the development and export bank and the export credit agency of the Republic of Croatia. Given the large number of loan programs, financial instruments, documents, and different user groups, one of the main challenges of the project was to organize a complex offering into a clear and understandable digital experience.

The new website is therefore not conceived merely as an institutional presentation, but as a practical tool that helps users find the appropriate form of financing and take the next step.

Complex offering organized by user needs

Loan programs, insurance and payment instruments, export credit insurance, and equity financing are organized into a clear information structure. Users can quickly access programs for investments, working capital, exports, EU projects, sustainable tourism, energy efficiency, digital and green transition, and other forms of financing.

The offering is further tailored to different user groups. Micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, large enterprises, and the public sector can directly access information that matches their needs, investment size, and project type.

This reduces the need to navigate a large number of unrelated pages and makes it easier for users to move from initial interest to a specific program and the required documentation.

From information to online application submission

Special attention has been paid to functionalities that turn the website into an active communication channel between HBOR and its users.

Through an online form, it is possible to submit an investment announcement, a loan or guarantee application, and a supplement to documentation for an existing application. The user selects the appropriate program, enters contact information, and attaches the required documents in electronic form.

In this way, the website does not end with merely presenting programs, but enables the initiation of a concrete business process.

Users also have access to contact forms, FAQs, guides, and detailed information on the loan application processing procedure—from project preparation and program selection to disbursement, control of designated use, and final loan repayment.

Loan calculator and useful digital tools

The integrated loan calculator enables an indicative repayment calculation based on the loan amount, interest rate, repayment term, grace period, and selected payment schedule.

The user can check the amount of the first installment, total interest, and total repayment amount, and generate an overview of the repayment plan. This makes it easier to familiarize oneself with the approximate financial obligations and compare different scenarios before submitting an application.

The website also contains the current exchange rate list, an overview of open programs, news, public calls, tenders, financial reports, plans, legal documents, and other information important to users and the general public.

Accessibility and responsive design

The website is fully adapted for use on computers, tablets, and mobile devices. Navigation, tables, forms, and documents are organized so that key information remains clear regardless of screen size.

Built-in accessibility features allow users to adjust text size, contrast, and a display optimized for people with dyslexia. Croatian and English language versions ensure access to information for HBOR’s domestic and international users and partners.

A system ready for a large volume of content and frequent changes

Financial programs and conditions change in line with the needs of the economy, the legislative framework, and available national and European funding sources. The content management system enables editors to regularly publish new programs, modify existing information, manage documents, and maintain an extensive archive.

The result is a stable and scalable digital platform that unifies institutional information, financial products, interactive tools, and online services.

The new HBOR website demonstrates how a large and content-complex financial portal can be transformed into a clear user experience that helps entrepreneurs and other users find information, make decisions, and initiate financing processes.
