Furnir – specialized web shop for wood materials and equipment
For Furnir, a company with over ninety years of experience in selling materials for furniture manufacturing, we developed a modern and responsive web shop based on the Globalshop platform.
The goal of the project was to bring a large and technically complex assortment closer to professional users, furniture manufacturers, craftsmen, and customers who are independently furnishing their homes. The new online store enables them to find products more easily, view technical specifications, compare different solutions, and prepare inquiries or orders.
Clear organization of a complex assortment
Furnir’s offering includes wood and panel materials, veneers, sawn timber, solid wood panels, worktops, plywood, particle boards, MDF, fittings, slides, drawer systems, and equipment for kitchens and wardrobes, as well as many other products for furniture production and furnishing.
To help users easily find the right item, the catalog is organized into main categories and detailed subcategories. Such a structure enables a quick transition from a broad group of products to a specific type of material, fitting, or equipment.
Special attention has been paid to clarity on mobile devices, where extensive catalogs and multi-level navigation must remain easy to use.
Search tailored to professional users
With technical products, users often already know the name, code, dimension, or manufacturer they are looking for. Therefore, the web shop allows searching products, categories, and brands, as well as quickly narrowing down a large number of results.
Products can be browsed by type of material and purpose, while a clearly defined category hierarchy makes it easier to find suitable alternatives.
This approach is equally suited to professional users who are looking for a specific product and private customers who are just exploring available materials for their project.
Detailed technical product specifications
Product pages are designed to provide information important for decision-making. In addition to the name, code, photos, and price, it is possible to display dimensions, thickness, type of finish, origin, and other properties specific to each category.
For products with multiple versions or dimensions, the user can select the appropriate variant. Availability is clearly indicated, and when it is necessary to further check stock or ordering options, the user can send an inquiry directly from the product page.
The print page option is useful for professional buyers who want to save technical data, share it with colleagues, or use it when preparing a project.
Comparison and linking of compatible items
The web shop enables product comparison, which is especially useful for materials that differ in dimensions, thickness, finish, or other technical characteristics.
Additional and related items can be displayed on product pages. In this way, alongside the base material, the user can find suitable fittings, profiles, accessories, or other equipment needed to complete the project.
Such product linking facilitates purchasing, reduces the need to search the catalog again, and helps users find a complete solution in one place.
Cutting list for ordering materials
One of the functionalities tailored to Furnir’s operations is the cutting list for ordering materials. It enables users to prepare the data needed for processing and cutting panel materials according to the requirements of a specific project.
By connecting the product catalog with the cutting list, the web shop goes beyond classic assortment presentation and becomes a practical tool for carpenters, furniture manufacturers, designers, and other professional users.
User account and easier repeat purchases
Users can register and log into their account, manage their cart, and view previously selected and recently viewed products.
For items that require additional verification, a question submission form is available. This connects the online catalog with Furnir’s expert support, which is important for products where the choice depends on purpose, dimensions, or compatibility.
Globalshop and easy content management
The web shop was developed on the Globalshop platform and connected with the Globaladmin system. This combination enables the management of a large catalog, categories, technical characteristics, photos, related products, and other sales content.
The administrative interface allows editors to independently update information and expand the offer, while the system’s flexible structure leaves room for introducing new categories, manufacturers, and functionalities.
The result is a specialized e-commerce platform that turns Furnir’s extensive offering into a clear digital catalog and a practical sales tool tailored to private and professional customers.
